For years, athletes at Princess Anne High School bemoaned a woefully cramped and ill-equipped weight room, but there was no money for improvements. Virginia Beach residents Posey L. Martin and his wife decided to lend a hand.
Neither have a former affiliation with the school, but they read about the issue in The Virginian-Pilot in October 2001. "I cut it out of the paper, and my wife and I talked it over," said Martin, "Then I put the article away. A few weeks later, I took it out again, and knew that I wanted to do it."
