Article: Big and small European suppliers push for growth in North America.(News)

Byline: Edmund Chew

North America offers one of the most accessible markets to crack and European suppliers are taking full advantage.

The globalization of automaker purchasing has let European suppliers strengthen their positions in the market (see story, Page 3).

"The Big 3 are willing to entertain any supplier who increases the competitive dynamics in a sector, or comes in with a better price," says Paul McCarthy, analyst at PricewaterhouseCoopers Autofacts

European companies such as Bosch and ZF Friedrichshafen have already captured a chunk of the market, and Faurecia also is doing well.
