United States Archivist John Carlin and Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn welcomed honored guests today to the official opening of the first and only West Coast opportunity to view key historical documents, which are part of American Originals: Treasures from the National Archives, on view at the Los Angeles Central Library's Getty Gallery October 4, 2003 - January 4, 2004.

The exhibit features 25 documents from the National Archives' collection of over four billion artifacts, including handwritten notes from John F. Kennedy's inaugural address, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, ...
