Phil Letarte, the U.S. agricultural trade officer in Manama, Bahrain, covers the Persian Gulf area for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In addition to Bahrain, his area of responsibility includes Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and involves supplying U.S. exporters with the latest information on potential customers and promotional opportunities. He also helps interested foreign buyers from the region locate U.S. suppliers.
