Age and experience won out over youthful talent in the semifinals of the women's open singles at the Sonitrol Tennis Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Sara Zolbrod rallied from a first-set loss to knock off top-seeded Geneva Gnam 5-7, 7-5, 6-1 and advance to today's finals of the three-day tournament.
Zolbrod, a 28-year-old teaching pro at the Eugene YMCA, will face Churchill graduate Kelli Royer in today's 10:30 a.m. championship match at Willow Creek Tennis & Sports Center.
