Nokia Corp. and Motorola Inc.'s separate pursuits of market share underlined their new handset announcements.
Nokia, whose handset division continues to perform better than its infrastructure business (where 550 workers soon will lose their jobs), unveiled two kinds of devices. The first is the Nokia 3595 phone, which strikes a balance between technology and affordability.
The second, which include the Nokia 2220 and 2260 phones, belong to the basic and affordable category.
