The one thing I couldn't find during my week of hurricane preparedness was the same thing I avoided as Hurricane Isabel worked her mojo on Virginia Beach: the voice of reason.
I couldn't hear it anywhere and, apparently, neither could thousands of other Beach residents.
In the days leading up to the storm, between hunting at local stores for C and D batteries and sufficient amounts of spring water, I joined millions of others in a daily ritual.
