Changes in Eastern Germany Hold Keys For Marketing Strategies
Unification of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) and the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) has breathed new life into the western German food industry. Previously, the industry was struggling with a lackluster domestic market that was declining in population. Pent-up demand for higher quality products and the desire for variety have resulted in a flood of western German products across the former border.
