Gus Norwood has seen a lot in his 86 years.
Norwood, who served as Northwest Public Power Association's executive secretary for 20 years, ending in 1967 when he was appointed as the first administrator of the Alaska Power Administration in Juneau, is one of the region's top historians.
Between 1952 and 1966, Norwood made 15 trips to Alaska on NWPPA business, including his first trip which covered 14 days, 4,500 miles and 12 cities.
