Your June issue includes a letter from Stephen Schulte who, in reference to the news item "EPA reports childhood asthma rates double" in your April issue, criticizes the EPA for junk science that results in the waste of precious resources to solve non-problems or nuisances.
The EPA report, to which you provided a link, lists several possible causes of asthma in children. Ozone is one of several possible causes of asthma. It is entirely plausible that, while ozone exposure is decreasing and the incidence of asthma is increasing, ozone still contributes to asthma.
