As designer Albert Kriemler stands on a vivid green hilltop near St. Gallen, Switzerland, surveying the Santis mountains to the south and Lake Constance sparkling off to the north, cowbells can be heard tinkling in the [distance. Indicating a prominent hill of beguiling pastoral beauty between these two landmarks, he points out the tiny village of Speicher, where he was born 43 years ago.
