Four and a half years after the demolition of Midtown Plaza created an industrial-size piece of developable real estate in the heart of Syracuse, city officials have found a use for the site.
It will become a parking lot.
The Syracuse Common Council today will vote on a plan to lease the property to University Hospital so it can temporarily accommodate cars displaced by the hospital's construction of a new parking garage at the site of an existing parking lot.
The 18-month deal could be ended at any time by the city and should not affect efforts to market the Midland Plaza site to potential ...
