Kansas City, Mo.-Based Pasta Firm Welcomes Ruling on Wheat Tariffs.

Oct. 7--A ruling Friday by the U.S. International Trade Council to not impose tariffs on Canadian durum wheat was welcome news for American Italian Pasta Co.

The Kansas City-based company, like other pasta makers, uses durum wheat in its products. Chief Executive Officer Timothy Webster said he was pleased with the ruling.

"We are proponents of free trade in general, and in particular we think that the North Dakota farmers' position was unjustified," Webster said. "We think the ruling was logical and appropriate."
