DETROIT _ There have been several great music directors in the history of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra but only one great concert hall: Orchestra Hall.
No DSO relationship has been more profound than its love affair with Orchestra Hall. Only once, during a golden age under Paul Paray in the 1950s, has the DSO managed to thrive artistically and financially outside the nurturing environs of its historic Woodward Avenue home.
