Vernon L. Adams was presented with the Environmental Division Leadership and Service Award at the 2002 Environmental Conference in April 2002.
Adams is manager of field environmental engineering for Georgia-Pacific Corporation in Palatka, Florida, USA.
He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Jacksonville University prior to entering the pulp and paper industry. He began his career at Alton Box Board Company in Jacksonville, Florida, and moved to Hudson Pulp and paper in Palatka, which was acquired by Georgia-Pacific Corporation.
