Oct. 8--Note to Miami: Thanks for showing up, but you're not part of the dream match-up advertisers or News Corp.'s Fox Network executives are looking for.
With playoff ratings up nearly 20 percent from a year ago--thanks to story lines galore emanating from a possible Cubs-Yankees or a Cubs-Red Sox World Series--the Marlins are quite the fish out of water. Pardon the pun.
Fox, which has long waited for the end of the advertising recession and the return of Major League Baseball's image, has on its doorstep a possible Super Bowl type of match-up in this year's World Series.
