Oct. 8--One of Wolcott's largest private employers will open a plant in China next year, a move that follows 90 job cuts earlier this year but was necessary to keep the precision metal components company competitive globally, its president said.
Yvon Desaulniers, president of Devon Precision Industries, expects the offshore operation will be up and running within 10 months and handling about 20 percent of Devon's production.
