THE merger between Carlton and Granada is good news for ITV viewers in Wales, says the chairman of HTV.
Getting the go-ahead from the Government yesterday, the pounds 4bn tie-up between the two ITV giants will put 12 of the network's 15 regions in the hands of one company.
The move, which is likely to come into effect in January, will enable ITV to better compete against BSkyB and the BBC.
Carlton and Granada said the end result would be better television for both viewers and advertisers.
