Oct. 8--Frustrated with politics as usual and captivated by a big-screen action hero who promised to clean house, Californians flocked to the polls Tuesday, dumping Democratic Gov. Gray Davis in a historic recall election and replacing him with Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It was the first recall of a governor in California and the second in the nation's history.
