Oct. 7--Chicago Transit Authority President Frank Kruesi on Monday appeared to be at odds once again with Mayor Richard Daley, his old friend and confidant, when Daley termed a planned CTA fare increase "silly" and insisted he was not consulted on the matter.
"I know nothing about it," Daley fumed during a City Hall news conference. "That was a leaked story. It went right to you from over at CTA and they never briefed me, never briefed my staff and never briefed the CTA board."
