Oct. 9--Leaders of the University Center Rochester nursing programs are asking legislators for nearly $12 million for new and better facilities.
Dr. Nirmala Kotagal, health sciences dean at Rochester Community and Technical College, told the state's higher education finance committee Tuesday that more classrooms and laboratories are desperately needed on campus.
She said the college has exceeded its nursing-classroom capacity by 15 percent and its open-lab capacity by more than 200 percent.
