A few times a month, Laurie Chihak drives from her home in Plymouth to the Minneapolis Farmers Market to buy beef from Ron Desens of Sleeping Cat Farm.
There are plenty of meat markets and grocery stores closer to home, but Chihak says the grass-fed, organically raised beef Desens sells is worth the trip. Free of hormones and antibiotics, the meat tastes like the beef she ate growing up on a farm in Wisconsin.
