A suit has been filed charging California's Workers' Compensation Appeals Board with creating a "Kafkaesque bureaucracy" which is blocking legislative reform and denying workers access to the workers' compensation system.
The suit was filed April 17 in the Court of Appeal in Sacramento by the California Applicants' Attorneys Association, made up of attorneys who represent injured workers before the appeals board, and the Peace Officers Research Association of California, a labor organization representing 36,000 rank-and-file law enforcement officers.
