AS PART OF a restructuring that will eliminate 600 jobs, DSM plans to mothball indefinitely all DSM Pharma Chemicals facilities for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates at Greenville, N.C. The more, to proceed in 2004, will result in the loss of 150 to 200 jobs.
The formulation activities of DSM Pharmaceuticals Inc., also located at the Greenville site, will be unaffected. "They will be continued with a focus on profitable growth," says a company spokesperson.
A single GMP production facility in Venlo, the Netherlands, will also be mothballed, with the loss of several tens of jobs. In total, 361 cubic meters of reactor capacity ...
