Back in the early 1990s, when you were more likely to have heard about the National Research and Education Network (NREN) than the World Wide Web, and the popular browsers were Mosaic and Cello (not Netscape or Internet Explorer), you might have followed the development of the Internet in a newsletter called "Research and Education Networking." It was created by Alan Meckler in 1990 to inform librarians and academics about the impact of the new networking technology.
