2003 OCT 13 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Some West Virginia small-business owners say they would jump at the chance to get health benefits for their private companies through the state's Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA).
But others say the plan could do more harm than good.
Tom Tompkin, who owns the truck repair business T&W Enterprise in St. Albans, said the plan may help him. Although Tompkin had provided his dozen employees with health insurance for about 25 years, he lost coverage for his workers and his family after being unable to keep up with rising premium payments in 2002.
