It's fourth and long for former Chicago Bear Gale Sayers and the computer reseller he heads, Mount Prospect-based Sayers 40 Inc., after the prolonged market slump and a dispute with a creditor forced an earlier incarnation of the company to liquidate this summer.
Inducted into the National Football League (NFL) Hall of Fame at age 34, Mr. Sayers is immortalized in grainy highlight films of his brief, brilliant career as a halfback from 1965 to 1971: the six touchdowns he scored in a single game against the San Francisco 49ers, for instance, while slogging through knee-deep mud.
