KIERAN O'DOHERTY was the co-founder of New York State's Conservative Party. He had a distinguished academic career, summa cum laude from CCNY, and an honors graduate of the law school at Columbia.
Kieran was the first person to run for governor on the Conservative Party ticket. When in 1966 he ran for lieutenant governor, the Conservative Party surpassed the Liberal Party, to be listed on Row C, where it has reposed ever since, very nearly making Row B in 1990 when the Republican candidate ran so poorly, and the Conservative Party endorsed Herbert London.
