Living birth is the most exhilarating of all experiences," says Kate, "but it wasn't enough to keep me awake!"
Kate had split from her baby's father, but with her mum Sandra, 47, holding her hand in the labour ward, she wasn't so scared of giving birth. What Kate wasn't counting on was missing the whole experience altogether.
"I remember the midwife telling me: `You'll be able to push the baby out soon.' Then I felt very tired and said: `I need to sleep'."
