Oct. 13--A funny thing happened on the way to the StayPut drink holder's sales as a luxury after-market product for Mercedes-Benzes and Jaguars.
Customers suggested completely different uses.
"Consumers forced us into markets we hadn't even thought of," says Pat Thomas. She and husband Jim are partners with Gary Smith in StayPut Products LLC in Laguna Beach.
The StayPut base is a simple yet effective product. The edge easily lifts up, but once the base is flat, it won't budge, even on an incline. Honest.
