Just before the United States invaded Iraq last April, three U.S. Congressmen visited Baghdad said they believed a war against Iraq was unjustified. One of them, Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.), said he thought "the President would mislead the American people" about the necessity of going to war in Iraq.
Right-wing commentators like Rush Limbaugh went ballistic. Cal Thomas called the Congressmen "the Bozos of Baghdad." Bill O'Reilly said they were giving aid and comfort to the enemy. It was the kind of reaction you'd expect from these folks.
What was interesting was the reaction from the supposed "bastions of liberal media" like The New York Times. They too ...
