Digital minilabs have made dramatic changes to the way things are done in retail photo labs, and in no case is this truer than with photo greeting cards.
Making a photo greeting card used to be a long and labor-intensive process; now. it's a matter of typing the greeting, clicking on the desired image, and pushing a few buttons. It probably takes longer to put the money the cards make into the cash register.
Marketing the cards may require a little more effort than making them, but many retailers find the effort pays off in a significant way.
