Dinosaurs were animals that lived long, long ago. Many dinosaurs lived on the land that is now the United States. Some of those dinosaurs ate meat. Other ones ate plants.
Allosaurus
Allosaurus (al-oh-SOR-uhs) was a carnivore. Carnivores eat meat. Allosaurus stood on two legs. It had two arms. Each arm had three claws. This dinosaur used its sharp teeth to catch and eat food. Allosaurus hunted dinosaurs such as Stegosaurus.
