Oct. 14--The Amazon region of Brazil is preparing to open its first showroom overseas in Hollywood to display goods made in the jungle area -- from candlesticks carved from fruit that monkeys eat to cell phones.
Leaders of the Amazon region's top economic development groups said they're aiming for a late November launch, part of a larger effort that would use Broward County as a distribution hub for goods made in Amazon states that span an area about the size of Europe.
Organizers hope the distribution push can boost exports and jobs for Brazil's Amazon ...
