As he prepared for practice Monday, Vikings coach Mike Tice looked over at his quarterback. Daunte Culpepper seemed "frisky," Tice said later, hopping around and chattering about his return from a three-week layoff.
On a scale of one to 10, Tice asked Culpepper, how do you feel?
"Coach," Culpepper said, "I'm a dime."
Feeling more like a million bucks than 10 cents, Culpepper emerged unscathed from an intense training camp-style practice, reassuring coaches and teammates he is ready to start Sunday against the Denver Broncos and the NFL's No. 2 defense.
