Oct. 15--Georgia-Pacific is escalating the fight for paper towel supremacy.
The Atlanta-based company is spending millions to make Brawny softer and more absorbent and is suing its top competitor over ads it says make false claims.
At stake is a share of the huge U.S. paper towel market. Last year, Americans spent nearly $2.3 billion on the product, according to Information Resources of Chicago.
In the end, Georgia-Pacific hopes its softer, more absorbent premium paper towel will be better equipped to compete with Bounty, the No. 1 brand made ...
