Oct. 15--Swiss billionaire Walter Haefner, who has been on a buying spree of Computer Associates International Inc. shares for the past two weeks, made his largest purchases to date last Thursday, giving him more shares of the company than owned before.

The purchase came the day after the company dropped a bombshell concerning accounting irregularities that caused the stock price to tumble.

CA shares yesterday closed down 12 cents to $24.55.
