John B. Byrd III has been named to replace Albert W. Moore as president of AMT--The Assn. for Mfg. Technology. Byrd will start working with Moore at the trade association's headquarters on the Washington Beltway in mid-September; his appointment is effective Oct. 1.
Byrd, 56, most recently was president of a surgical-instrument manufacturer, Symmetry Medical, Inc. (Warsaw, Ind.), with operating units in the U.S. and Europe. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was president of Rank Taylor Hobson Inc.
