The diagnosis and treatment of cancer in childhood and adolescence has previously been associated in later life with higher rates of stress, psychosocial maladjustment and impaired sexual functioning.
This Danish study reports the rates of hospitalization for psychiatric disorders among 3710 survivors of childhood or adolescent cancer, followed for up to 24 years, from a nationwide, population based, retrospective cohort study compared to national rates in the general population.
