All health care providers should be aware of the newer therapies for allergic diseases, including rhinitis and asthma. Because primary care providers see most of the patients with these conditions, it is imperative that they learn how to use newer medications.
Newer therapies for allergic and nonallergic rhinitis
Allergic rhinitis affects approximately 40 million Americans each year, including up to 40% of children. (1) Respiratory conditions that may coexist with or complicate rhinitis include otitis media, asthma, and sinusitis; appropriately treating rhinitis is one key to preventing these comorbidities.
