A steering committee of the National League of Cities Central Cities Council (CCC) last week developed an action plan to strengthen the effectiveness and influence of this recently created group.
Led by Chair Nick Licata, councilmember from Seattle, the council met in Philadelphia to shape a mission statement and goals to guide its work and encourage broad participation by elected officials from urban centers.
The Central Cities Council was established in 2002 to provide an opportunity for networking and issues exchange among elected officials from central cities. The Council has met at the Congress of Cities in Salt Lake City and the 2003 Congressional City Conference ...
