LAUREL -- Sanderson Farms Inc. (NASDAQ/NM: SAFM) has released its results for the third quarter and nine months ended July 31,2003.
Net sales for the third quarter of fiscal 2003 were $232.2 million, compared with $202.7 million for the same period a year ago. For the quarter, Sanderson Farms reported net income of $15.4 million, or $1.17 per diluted share, compared with net income of $9.3 million, or 70 cents per diluted share, for the third quarter of fiscal 2002.
Net sales for the first nine months of fiscal 2003 were $617.5 million, compared with $542.6 million for the same period of fiscal 2002. Net income for the first nine months of the year ...
