Summer is nearly three months away, but parents are running out of time to choose sleepover camps for their children, and even after they find one their choice may not match the image of camps from their youth.
Today's involved parents - ones often slammed as helicopter parents for their hovering childrearing - are reshaping the summer camp experience, experts suggest.
Traditional cabins and campfires remain, but now families face a mind-boggling array of choices: debate camp, weather camp, film camp, skateboarding camp, circus camp, paintball camp, windsurfing camp and even SAT camp.
