REGIONAL NEWS: ZUNE'S U.S. MARKET SHARE FELL TO 8.7% IN FEBRUARY.(Business)

Microsoft Corp.'s Zune device held a U.S. market share of 8.7 percent in February among hard drive-based portable music players, according to NPD Group statistics cited by Microsoft on Wednesday.

That was down from 9.9 percent market share in January and 10.2 percent in December.

Microsoft said it was still enough to give Zune the No. 2 position in the hard drive-based market in February, behind Apple's dominant iPod players.
