AUSTIN, Texas _ Texas officially became the 11th state to join Mega Millions on Thursday, and lottery officials said the first tickets could go on sale in the state soon after Thanksgiving.
``Texas joining a multistate jurisdictional game is huge,'' said Texas lottery director Reagan Greer, just minutes after the three-member lottery commission gave him permission to sign the contract with Mega Millions.
Lottery officials said they expect the state to net as much as $120 million a year by joining the game, and that calculation includes any drop-off in sales for other games offered by the Texas lottery. Earlier estimates put ...
