SUR LA TABLE WEATHERS STORMS AS RETAIL STORE BASE GROWS.

SEATTLE-Just as Hurricane Isabel was hammering the East Coast, Renee Behnke was opening Sur La Table's 32nd store -- in Richmond, Va., the center of the storm's path. Despite the weather, the opening was a hit -- filled with rain-soaked shoppers who had packed it in at the office -- until the electricity failed and the store was shut for four days. The effects of Isabel were a minor setback, though.
