2003 OCT 24 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Hair loss and alopecia can occur in women too, due to many reasons including immunological ones.
According to a study from Germany, "Hair loss is a major psychological burden for women. The most frequent causes are: androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata (immunologic hair loss), and scarring alopecias (lichen planus, chronic discoid lupus erythematosus, folliculitis decalvans, frontal fibrosing alopecia Kossard). In addition, hair loss can occur without visible hair thinning.
