Q. Is it true that kosher salt and sea salt are more healthful than regular salt?
A. That depends on your definition of healthful. Kosher and sea salts are lighter and less dense than ordinary table salt, so there's actually less salt--and therefore less sodium--in a teaspoon. So, are kosher and sea salts better? Yes, if you're concerned about sodium and tend to use salt by shaking or measuring a certain amount. But if you season by taste and would simply use more to get the same saltiness, then probably not.
