Prime Ticket Seeks Ops' Help for Universal Placement
LOS ANGELES - The Prime Ticket regional sports network is "buying" universal channel placement in the Los Angeles market with currency ranging from expanded marketing support to possibly negotiating changes in affiliates' contract agreements.
Prime Ticket executives believe that viewers identify their TV entertainment by channel number, not by name. They argue that universal placement will increase the value of both the network's and the operator's ads.
