HIS breed is famous for working with policemen, guarding homes and herding animals.

But this alsatian pup is unlikely to be much good at any of those duties.

For three-month-old Kricket suffers from dog dwarfism - a rare genetic disorder which means he will grow no larger than a border terrier.

While his brothers and sisters already weigh in at over two stone, tiny Kricket tips the scales at just 8lbs and stands eight inches tall.

Andy and Mary Higgins added the pup to their pack of 17 rescued dogs after his first owner, a breeder, decided not to keep him.
